So I think I’m just going to come out and say this: I still don’t really ‘get’ how all this blogging stuff works.

I don’t mean the point of blogging or anything like that, I actually mean all the technical side of it. I still have no idea what an RSS feed is, I balk at the thought of adding anything more complex than a couple of images to my posts, I have no idea how to really ‘control’ my blog, what I could possibly do with it to make it better, or just add things I might want. Once I get into the background of this thing, beyond the window I’m typing in now, I have no idea what I’m doing! I’m like my parents when you hand them a new remote control: they think every button has the capability to blow up the device it’s pointed at.

The irony is that I write computer code for a living. I perform (fairly) complex logical tasks in order to get the results I need. Strange is it not then that I can be so incompetent when it comes to this sort of thing? Quite…

And, as we’ve not got a whole lot planned this weekend and as I’ve hurt my knee and won’t be out and about so much either, I thought I might try to make some time to do a bit of learning to see whether I can become a bit more au fait with this little universe we inhabit.

So if the next time you visit the site’s in complete disarray, you’ll know I’ve started pressing buttons on that remote! Fingers crossed I can find the reset button if that turns out to be the case!

If there are any expert bloggers out there, feel free to share the knowledge! Or just some tips… Or a tip… Or a link to some tips… Anything! And if you’re like 8 years old, don’t tell me, because you’ll make me feel very old and stupid, thanks!
